I have participated in many MUD communities, even working on several as a builder and immortal. I find that Dark Legacy has a great player base, interesting and challenging areas, and a leveling system that even the newest players are able to understand. The races are extensive as well are classes. Morphing is a big part of the leveling system, Epic levels are challenging. but once be coming and Epic a player can be truly proud of themselves. There are several ways to be self-sufficient with crafting, mining, lumberjacking to name a few. The staff are informative and most gracious. One other thing I found helpful and interesting is the Justice Council. The members of the council are able to serve as a peace officer of sorts, including sentancing and judging criminal activity. Of all the time I have spent in MUD dungeons. Dark Legacy has acquired a long time and active member. I enjoy every moment I spend.

I've been playing Dark Legacy for almost a year now and it has evolved into one of the most interesting and expansive muds I've seen. It is not just a game it is a community, even a way of life for some. DL doesn't stop at just levelling & exploring the variety and vast number of areas (with more being developed) you can also become involved in roleplay with guilds, your own cottage, house, mansion, citadel in player hamlets, there's also a range of different pets hatched from eggs which can be levelled with eq available for them. There are also crafts which allow you to make cooking utensils, furniture, and even your own customizeable armor (enchantable with the stats YOU want and need) that you can sell. You can even write books which spawn over the world. But above that, and I think this applies for so many people who play, is the community & social side of DL. There are so many people there to help you or develop relations with, and there are also darker characters which you can have long lasting feuds with. Its so much fun AND you can even get married and have a nice big wedding!! ;) The community is so amazing, and life in Alora becomes so engrossing its hard to move away. Everyone should try DL at least once in their life.

I haven't been playing this game for long, and even so, I believe this is one of the greatest games I've ever played. This and Pendulus own the top of my favorites list. So far the only thing i've had to complain about this game would be the easy leveling... and I suppose that's due to my incredibly low level though *shrugs* Hope you'll join us

If you're one of those people that prefer to use their imagination and play text games, this is the one for you. It has everything you could want - Friendly players, great admin, all of the details that make a great game and all of the little ones that add to your experience. This is the greatest MUD I have ever played. Check it out!

I'm an avid MUD player, but it's extremly hard for me to find a MUD that just suits me. I've been playing DL for two years now which says a lot (i've started playing about a month after it came out). Since that time I've seen the game change a lot and for better. It started as a basic SMAUG code base MUD, but now Celeborn (the owner of the MUD) has added TONS of stuff and he's still adding more. (Some of the things - a new magic system pased on runes and prisms, ability to own castles, about 10 different craft skill where you can make your own equipmenet, (and also gathering recources to make that eq) -- pet that actualy grow up, learn skills, gain experiance, learn skills and can help you in battles, recource ---, an active staff of immortals. He has changed so much stuff the game couldn't even be called SMAUG anymore. When i started a lot of times I was the only person on, but i've stuck with it and how it's not common for 30 ppl to be on at the same time. Overall it's a great MUD. (I have it a 9 cause there is still some minor things that aren't to my taste, but I'm confident that Celeborn will get to it sonner or later (E.G. coding a Wilderness - that is traveling between areas in a special, huge, area with random encounters, totems, etc)
